At the University of Michigan, I had the joy of designing event materials and shaping experiences for the Women's and Gender Studies Department and the Department of Philosophy. These events, from cozy winter socials to formal academic gatherings, were about more than just logistics. They were about creating connection, joy, and a sense of belonging across diverse communities.

Each one gave me the chance to flex my creative range: playful invites, scholarly posters, soft textures, bold color. Whether I was crafting an end-of-term picnic look, curating a feminist disco invite, or bringing a full event to life: menu, setup, decorations, signage. I designed with intention and always kept the community in mind.

Event Planning Scope
- In addition to visual design, I also led or supported full event planning for over 80 campus events, including:
- Theme development and visual direction
- Venue selection and layout
- Catering and menu planning
- Décor, signage, and invitation design
- Run of show and day-of coordination
- Travel and lodging arrangements for guest speakers
- Collaboration with university departments and VIPs

Highlights
- Designed and planned over 50 social and academic events across two departments
- Visual campaigns included posters, invites, social graphics, and printed schedules
- Full-scale support for both casual gatherings and high-level symposia
- Worked directly with faculty, student leaders, guest speakers, and senior administrators

Process & Notes
This body of work was especially fun because I got to play with a range of visual moods, vintage, campy, cozy, glitzy, all within a community-centered lens. I worked across both departments to ensure each event felt right for its audience. Sometimes that meant glittery balloons, sometimes a thoughtfully serifed schedule of presentations. Every detail mattered.
